Fine Art Photography Course

TRANSFORM YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS INTO ARTISTIC IMAGES

Getting Started | Lessons 1 - 6 | One Lesson a Week

Photography for so many people is about capturing reality and recording memories. But did you know that photography is one of the most exciting mediums in art today?  Still, if you look deeper, you will also realise that a camera and the less than perfect photographic system itself is an incredible platform to create brilliant art.

On this course, the camera is seen as an instrument of the workbench to create art. Over many years, Martin Osner has developed mixed media and digital techniques that draw out an incredible artistic impression and delivers photographs into a beautiful creative space. Whether he uses the camera in the beginning, during, or at the end of the process does not matter. What matters is that the photographic process's characteristics, both good and poor, are used to deliver the art. The techniques taught are creative and unique.

This first set of workshops (Getting Started) consists of six lessons comprising of two and a half hours, taught once a week. Classes are presented live over Zoom, and video recordings are shown to demonstrate techniques. Classes are small in size, interactive and workshop orientated where you will learn to transform photography into art imagery fit for display and exhibition. Traditional art techniques like oil & acrylic painting, sketching, collaging, montaging, double exposure, and transfers are taught, both with and without digital photo editing.

These comprehensive workshops do not require in-depth knowledge of photography; rather, it is more important that as a student, you have a desire to explore photography as an alternative creative medium within the framework of art.

Martin Osner's Fine Art Photography course is absolutely brilliant and it lifts the scales off your photographic eyes...if anyone would like to have an awe-inspiring, mind-blowing, eye-opening, inspirational, thought-provoking and soul-searching experience then come on one of these courses because you will never see photography in the same manner again. Apart from being fun, the creativity and methods that Martin uses in his teaching are easy to use and to understand and he has a lifetime of knowledge and experience which he freely shares... apart from all of that, both Martin and his lovely, and equally talented daughter Sam, are just such nice people, filled with passion for what they love doing best...teaching, photographing and creating exceptional works of art... I can strongly recommend any of their courses for anyone wanting to get a little more out of their photographic and artistic passion. For years I have been striving for the perfect photographs... now I am striving for the imperfect photographs...photographs that can turn into works of art...Oh yes...and the learning via Zoom from anywhere in the world is brilliant...it works so well.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Big Bear Movement?

The Big Bear Movement is a lighthouse for the world; and what does a lighthouse do? It helps guide lost ships back to shore through the storms of life. Sometimes we need help from other people’s guidance to get life back on track. We are a worldwide support network working to empower and bring hope and strength to the world. We want to help people heal through our stories of life struggles and overcoming them.

What is The Big Bear Movement about?

The Big Bear Movement is about bringing unity to the people of the world regardless of race, religion, or political views. We live in a very divided world and the Big Bear Movement focusses on bridging the gaps in our societies. The Big Bear Movement is about self improvement and empowering others. It’s a simple lifestyle living your life with love and positivity and doing your part to make the world a better place. A team effort.

How did the Big Bear Movement get started?

After many tumultuous life events, heart aches, struggles with addiction and depression, founder, Colin BigBear Ross, had a breakthrough healing experience. He felt a divine presence at the time of his awakening and felt protected and loved. Colin acknowledged that he had the capacity to provide alignment and healing to people struggling with emotional blockages which lead Colin on a journey toward self improvement and working to help others. He reached out to friends all over the world spreading uplifting and positive messages, which has lead to a global movement connecting and motivating thousands of people.

Who is The Big Bear Movement for?

You can participate by joining the movement following us and supporting our cause(s) on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and our website: bigbearmovment.com. You may even help by volunteering to help push this positive love movement forward on a world scale simple by being a caring and compassionate person in your daily life. All details can be found on the website.

Do people actually physically get together?

Yes. We have “Bear Dens” in which people from the same area can meet up and have community through the movement. When members meet up they can discuss issues that matter to them and their own contributions to spreading positivity and love. They can also work together to arrange group activities through which they may support their communities and relevant causes, such as organizing food drives, helping elderly neighbours, circulating necessities to homeless people, donating to local charities, etc.

What is the final goal for the Big Bear Movement?

The Big Bear Movement aims to help heal the world and leave it in much better condition than when we started. We want to support causes close to our hearts, help people improve their own life situations and create a long lasting legacy for future generations to live by.

" I have been enjoying photography for twenty years now and have been actively involved in clubs and salons. A while back I just started losing my excitement for the medium and felt like everything I shot was "same old ... same old"  I booked on the workshop after seeing some pictures that a friend of mine was submitting after she attended Martin Osner's fine art course. My Mojo is back...should have done this long time ago. Thanks, Martin!"
