Upcoming Courses, Workshops and Events
As this year sprints towards a rapid close, Samantha and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family this festive season.
As you might know, I started teaching basic and art photography online a few years ago. At the time, by my admission, I did not think it would work. Well, today, I'm a complete convert. Since presenting on zoom, my courses have become more and more popular, and the quality of imagery produced has been exceptional.
Not only do these classes now attract an international audience, but we're having just as much fun online as we used to have in a class environment, for which I am very grateful.
As we head into the new year, it's time to consider new resolutions, opportunities and lifestyle changes. Through the challenges of the last few years, one thing that has become apparent is how important creativity is for our well-being. Photography and art have proved to be excellent outlets to help drown away from the noise of life in today's chaotic world.
As we ponder the year ahead, I encourage you to embrace art photography as a creative medium. I'll be hosting a discussion on fine art photography early in January; this will not be a webinar but a live seminar in which I'll discuss my philosophy of the medium and answer questions from the audience. For this reason, participants will be limited to ensure active and productive debate, so please sign up early if you'd like to join me. You can click here, or you will find a booking link below.
Late January sees the start of my basic to intermediate photography class for beginners, plus the art and fine art photography classes cycles kick-off for the year. Scroll down for details.
Once again, thank you for your continued support. May you have a happy Christmas and a safe, prosperous and creative new year.

You have the camera; now let us show you how to use it properly.
Getting into photography with today's modern camera equipment can feel somewhat daunting. The terminology is weird because the photographic process combines maths, science, and chemistry. Most settings feel like they work backwards, and then, just for good measure, editing software and art are thrown in for good measure. Funny, it is not that challenging to cut through the jargon and learn the basics of photography properly.
Do you want to learn advanced techniques for taking exceptional pictures of forests, land, and seascapes? If so, then this course is a must!
This workshop is specifically presented during a change of season in Cape Town, offering incredible mood and natural lighting opportunities conducive to spectacular landscape photography. Most of the teaching is practical on-location workshops, as Martin firmly believes that one-on-one 'over shoulder' instruction is the best way to learn this exciting genre.
